 in response to Jimmmy Joe...   My husband & I, are living on his disabiltiy and our home is being sold April 1st (2 weeks)in Florida for 2009 back taxes of $1,700. Anyone know of any help in Florida. I have found help programs other states, but not Florida. I cannot find employment and this has been his family home for 51 years. I feel for all of you. Maybe call your congressman or woman...just a thought.

My husband is on disability and our taxes are back same years as yours. $1700 that we do not have for 2009 year and he we use to be able to keep up, but since his disability...I am researching programs for helps w/property taxes and some states will help...not in Florida, of course where live. Our house goes up for Auction April 1st, in 2 weeks.....I am looking for employment. If I find any news I will forward to you. We need $1700.00 to save our home for another year. I will certainly keep you in mind as I have been looking for programs all day. What state are you in?

 in response to mrbill5379...   You have to owe 5 years of property taxes until you are at risk of losing your home. Even at 5 years you can request a payment plan. They will ask you for 25% of the amount do. Lets say you owe $10,000.00 in back property taxes. You pay so you owe $2,500.00 up front and you will have to be current with the amounts due that's year. Lets say your yearly property taxes are $2,000.00. So you would owe $2,500 plus $2,000.00 which totals $4,500.00. They will not deduct the $2000.00 current taxes from the $10,000.00. They will only deduct the $2,500.00. So you will have to pay the remander $8,000.00 within 5 years. about $2,900.00 per year plus keep current with property taxes EVERY YEAR. You can pay monthly or yearly but you have to pay before every April of every year or your house will be sold in an Auction right under your nose.

Hello, I am a 64 year old widow who is on social security and recieve 290 per month. My husband died 2 years ago from cancer and I have been struggling financially. I have kept up on my property taxes except for this last one. I owe 350 dollars and I am really stressing because they will be due again soon and I did not have the money in July to pay them. Please, I need some help.

Can anyone help my grandaughter & I pay our property taxes ? Our taxes are a year behind and come the end of December we will be 2 yrs behind.My grandaughter is 7 and has cerebal palsey and is on social security which helps. I have been on cash assisstance and foodstamps for the last 6 months. My husband was taken out of the house by County Deputy Sheriffs because I got a Protection from Abuse against him. I was granted a support order for spousal support which will go to Dept Public Welfare for $205.00 cash and $230 in food stamps we receive each month. I was fortunate enough to inherit my parents home so at least it is paid for. My father's namme is still on the deed because I owe over $3,000 in inheratance taxes from 2008. We have lived here the last 6 yrs taking care of my mother that had alzheimers that passed away in 2006 and my father who had parkinson's desease that passed away in 2008. I brought them home to take care of them myself so we didn't loose the house but fear my grandaughter and I are going to end up homeless. My grandaughter is my son's daughter. My son is in the State Correctional Facility...Rockview for aggravated assault doing 3 1/2-8 1/2 yrs.He has been gone 2 yrs now. Her mother is a drug addict that is a convicted felon that has been in and out of Muncy State Prison. I have been diagnosed with spinal stenosis and a currently working on applying for social security myself. I can walk with a cane but I am having great difficulty.I am at my wits end trying to see a clear direction to go...any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your time.  in response to cuba...   About the only thing I know of is contact your people in Congress, that's what they are there for. that, or contact the IRS and work out some type of a plan to pay them back. You could try a couple of those attorney's on TV that are suppse to help with back taxes but they don't wwwant to help until you have $10,000.00 in debt. Why that much, I can't tell you but I tried and they told me that my tax problem wasn't enough for them to help, but still worth a try.

i need help paying my tax the land was my grandmother and grandfathers and then my aunts and then my dad and moms and they are all in gods world now and i told my dad that i wouldnt let nothing happen to the land but then my home burd down on the land and i lost everything in it.i wasnt cleaning it up fast enuff for the town and they came and did it even thought i was doing it and put 4000 dollars on my tax now i am be hind almosted 5000 dollars and if i dont have it befor the 25th of may i lose my land and i will be so so upset and dont think i will even want to live.can someone pleaese help me.thank you,fawn
